Manchester’s No1 Poker League, Tango Poker League. Had its latest final at the Grosvenor “Riverside” Casino.
Big shout out to Kat and her staff for making us so welcome.
51 players turned up to win a seat to the GUKPT
With blinds starting at 50/100 and a starting stack of 15k, there will be plenty of play.
First out, and lasting less than 10 mins into the tournament is Adam “the Mexican” White.
The play was steady after that and we only lost 2 more players to the first break.
Yours truly, went out after the break when I looked down at pocket Jacks, with the blinds 200/400 I was going to raise, but it was raised before me to 4k.I just called to see the flop, and shove if the flop was good. Ian Geddes also joined the party. The original raiser was getting ready to shove before the cards had hit the felt. I therefore deduced that he had air, and was just trying to steal the pot.
With a 10 high board, I put all my chips in, knowing that I was in front.
Ian called with A9 spades on a flush draw. The turn is a brick, but a 7 of spades on the river, finishes my day at the races lol.
After playing for over 6 hours, we still had 2 tables, and the blinds and antes are hurting.
Within the next hour we are down to the final 10
